Unusual Suspects.  First time I've seen this episode, but I'm sure it's been on before.

Dealt with a wrongful conviction of a mother for killing her son.

At one point someone made reference to the lack of footprints in the dew on the grass.  They also stated that a review of meteorological data for that date showed no dew present. OK, fine, no problem there since they were trying to prove the officer's observations and written report were wrong.

It was the next part that got my attention.  They stated that since rain was expected, dew was not possible and went further to state 'every farmer knows that when you're expecting rain, there won't be any dew' (paraphrased).

Thoughts?

Seems to me I've had a lot of mornings with dew and rain later in the day.

That's pretty bizarre. I don't watch those shows for a reason  I hope a murderer wouldn't be that minute in their plan!

There is an explanation for this saying here echoed here.  It's roughly true.

I better not get convicted on a roughly estimate maybe could be! and I sure hope no murderer gets acquitted based on same almost logic :-)

On the morning of 15 Oct @ 7 am, I reported heavy dew.
On the morning of 16 Oct @ 7 am, I reported 0.09" of rain that accumulated between 7 am and 9am on 15 Oct.
So heavy dew seen at 7am then rain began approximately 7:05 am.
