Topic: Vortex wind sensor and gusts

I just installed a new Inspeed Vortex wind sensor to avoid the spikes associated with my Lacrosse 2310.  I am still using the 2310 for wind direction.  While I am getting good wind speeds (oddly enough I can read the wind speed from the Lacrosse on it's desk top unit) my gusts seem to be reading high.  The unit is level.  Did I miss a setting someplace or is there another cause?
