Supermoon rising
« on: November 14, 2016, 06:14:35 AM »
I took some time out last night to enjoy the rising of the perigee full moon over the Superstition Mountains.  A lot of other people had the same idea and most of them seemed to be at one of my favorite sites to view from so I had to scout around for a decent location.  I got set up and took some photos for a panorama while waiting for the moon to top the hills in the distance and then it was game on with a near-constant click of shutters as everyone tried to capture that *perfect* shot.

Looking at the photos on the computer when I got home I could see that it would have been better if I had been about 50 yards south of my location but in the end I still wound up with some very nice images.

Just in case anyone might want to view it here is a link to the full-size version of the panorama:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2fplcp5qs6809rw/sunset_panorama.jpg?dl=0

Full image is 9149x1956 and is a stitch of five photos taken with a Canon T3/1100D and 24-105mm lens set to 80mm, 1/125 sec exposures @ f/8, ISO 200.  Photos were combined with Hugin image stitching software and adjusted in Photoshop.

Those are some great moon shots, excellent =D>   It was quite fascinating to see the low big moon before sunset and so very bright at night and the colourful halo around it \:D/

Enjoying,
Paul

Very nice!  I missed my opportunity to get any pictures due to some work obligations but you got some great shots...

If I'm alive on Nov 25th 2034 or whenever it was, I'll try to remember to take some then... :)
