What kind of roof?  Or use a mount on the gable.  Those sat tv mounts work well.

Sorry - you will have to lag bolt it through the shingles.

predrill your holes and use mastic before you bolt and after

Also, try to screw the lags into the roof rafters or trusses. Just screwing into the roof sheathing will make a weak installation which could get blown over leaving big holes, damaged equipment and damaged shingles where it hits.

that is the one problems with the tripod's, the feet dont line up very well with rafters.  I think I was able to get the single side into one, and maybe one from the double side... but the footprint is does not line up with standard width trusses...

Well this dumb old indian uses a doubler  when i am fasten  something to my roof. using 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 and  run it  between your rafter. This will spread out the  load and you can nail it to the rafters on each side to  also  add to strengthing your installation.   Mastic above  40 year sealant underneath and in the bolt hole and you will not have any leakage.
