Is this a good web editor? Front Page is what I am using now. It wants to change the php and other things.

Yes Kompozer is quite good as pages made in it work in any browser.

The few sites I have made in the past I have used either Word or Frontpage and since they are Microsoft products, things only work properly in Internet Explorer.

My latest site I used kompozer and things have worked out well.

Ditto. However, when editing certain script, you can only use it to do the layout/look; don't save. Instead, copy the code from komposer and paste into notepad.   I'm almost finished my new site usng the phpscripts/templates from saratga and webster.
