« on: May 26, 2015, 01:52:03 AM »
Hi

Does anyone know of any software which will allow me to convert the data in my .WLK files into a MySQL database, please.

Jruys wrote WLK reader sw and he does have a SQL adapter.  You can search the forum for both.

I wrote something back in medieval times to create an Access database from wlk files (maybe that's not close enough)? Two big caveats though:

It's literally many years since I last looked at this and in all probability was not a well-tested nor very robust utility. I had intended to develop it further and make it more robust, but the project ran out of time and just became abandoned. For all I know it may not work at all nowadays. But if you get totally stuck with other options...

Second, I uploaded the program to some free webspace from an Internet provider that I used to use around 10 years ago, but the use of that site stopped also many years ago. Yet when I look, the site is still there. How bizarre! I can't imagine that the program is much use now and you're probably wasting your time, but FWIW the program is called WLDS and can be found at:

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

I was playing around with this a while ago.
What I ended up doing was exporting the .WLK data into .CSV files from  WeatherLink. I exported each year of data into one file.
Then I used a simple python script that I wrote to read the files and insert them into a MySQL table.
