I was hoping to get some advice on buying a new weather station. I had a Davis Vantage Vue that unfortunately blew off the roof and is now in pieces, but before that I was pretty happy with it, other than the console which (IMO) is butt ugly. I also have a Davis Vantage Pro at our farm which I'm pretty happy with (console slightly better looking), with a Meteobridge. Both these units are considerably more expensive than others on the market, but I guess the Davis quality and accuracy is what you are paying for? The downside of the Davis (apart from cost) is the dated consoles! My requirements are:
- separate anemometer so it can be better sited higher up
- IP connection so I can remotely observe (ie no 24x7 computer)
- cloud datalogging
- decent looking console to keep the wife happy!
Very appreciative of any advice received.
