Monsoon 2017 a complete review
« on: October 10, 2017, 02:01:11 AM »
The monsoon ⛈️ is officially over here is our review of this years season.

Monsoon 2017- was characterized by two contrasts the active wet period from mid July to mid August. This was followed by a fairly dry final 6 weeks of the season. As there was really little inter-action with Eastern Pacific Hurricanes these storms usually move up the coast of Baja and inter-act with seasonal low pressure systems that enter the state, these seasonal transitional events usually send rich moisture into the state and produce September thunderstorm outbreaks. #Monsoon2017

No pun  intended but the Monsoon is an actual seasonal wind shift the prevailing upper level winds shift from the westerly to south to southeasterly this is what brings the moisture out of Mexico to fuel thunderstorms. This phenomenon only occurs in India/ Southeast Asia (Southwest Asian Monsoon) and Mexico with Arizona being on the northern fringes of the Mexican Monsoon details available at http://www.pepperridgenorthvalley.com/Monsoon.php

Good  :-) I actually thought your comment was funny , but I wanted to let you know about the unique weather phenomenon we experience every Summer here in the Desert Southwest, even our local media gets it wrong sometimes. They will report that a  "Monsoon hit the valley last night" when that is technically not possible since the Monsoon is a seasonal wind shift that actually caused the thunderstorm that hit the valley. Glad you found the write up interesting.
