Capacity of WS-1001 Consule
« on: June 17, 2015, 07:33:47 AM »
What is the capacity of the Display Consule?  i.e. how many days/weeks/years of data can be captured before the unit is full and can't take any more or start writing over the old data?  I would like to periodically download the data to capture for long term historical purposes.

That's a good question. I knew that it had 4 gigabytes of internal memory, but I cannot find anywhere online where it says how much that would be in terms of holding data. I have an Ambient Weather WS-1090, and it is supposed to hold 8 years. Perhaps they may be close.

I got this email from Ambient when I asked them the same question:

"There is so much memory, it should last 20+ years."

Regards,

Ed

Wow, that is quite impressive. I may send an email of my model and see if mine will hold that long. I didn't think it would.

WS1001 like the HP1001 in Europe could save 660,000 records. So if you set yourself saving measurements every 5 minutes - is enough for 6 years, 3 months and 11 days.   ;)
