Interesting. It has a natural sounding voice.

A possible alternative to this might be an Air Band receiver set to receive the local airport AWOS. I can receive my local station KPZQ on WX AWOS-3: 118.125 MHz.

Something like the Weather Radio project could be used to port the audio. My local station updates every minute. My Ham 2 meter receiver can pick up the aircraft VHF range on AM quite well since I am less than a mile away.
