OK, so ask and you shall receive!  The rain gauge without calibration using a \http://www.cocorahs.org/ official rain gauge as a benchmark, let's look at how it did in today's rainstorm in Knoxville, TN.

Anything else you want tested?

Currently running a 5-in-1 pro along with my Davis VP2 (6163). Wanted to get some inexpensive temp/rh sensors for around the house and be able to check them easily online and was looking at Acurite for that and decided to get the 5-in-1 pro package to see how it compares to Davis as well. I hope to put together some graphs after collecting some data. My main station for reporting will continue to be the Davis.

How well do the two match-up?

How well do the two match-up?

Only 7 days of comparison so hardly a representative sample size but comparing daytime highs, the 5-N-1 averaged 1.9ºF higher than the VP2 with FARS. I believe the specs Acurite indicate an accuracy of  +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit. It would be interesting comparing sunny to cloudy days as well as min temps. I need to brush up on Excel.  ;)

Funny, that's about the exact amount my 5 in 1 runs above the Davis stations very close to me but everyone thinks I'm crazy

That's because you were telling us it was unaspirated.

False George...i am not sure if it is aspirated or not. What I do know is that I'm always 2 degrees higher. There is another Acurite that just came online even closer to the Davis and guess what.... It's high too by about 2 degrees also.

That was my opinion, I'm not a Davis model expert.
