« on: March 20, 2009, 05:51:49 PM »
Is there anyone who can tell me how I can do to open a page in a new tab instead of a new window?

I think that is controlled by the individual browser settings.

Yes, it depends on the browser settings.  The only thing you can do, is specify a "New page", then it will either load as a New Window or a New tab, depending on the browser and the user's settings.

Lars means, "What html anchor coding option forces a link in my web page to open a new tab in the visitor's browser rather than opening a new browser page?" As Sam and Ironton replied, it depends on the visitor's browser settings. That is, it isn't controlled from within the web page.

Thanks for all the answers

then it is up to visitors to choose whether they want the link in a new tab or a new window
(standard is to bring up a new window)

Yes.  The web designer cannot specify window or tab, only the user can.
