Rainfall correction
« on: August 31, 2014, 09:24:20 PM »
We had extremely hard rainfall earlier today and my VP2 missed  about half an inch of rain as compared to my analog rain gauge.

Can anyone refresh my memory as to how I can correct it?

Thanks,

Joe

It's so difficult for me to remember how to do it on the console that I'd likely be the one to go out and open up the cone and rock the bucket 50 times... :)

All joking aside, I used this post to help me last time I had to manually correct on the console:

Thanks for remembering my old post from 2008.  I had to do a correction this morning.  I have WeatherLinkIP, and by changing the console, the data to Davis WeatherLink Network gets an immediate update.  As would tipping the bucket many times.  If I change the rain data in VWS instead, then other data is incorrect.
We had a thunderstorm today at 2am.  The manual gauges had 0.22".  The Davis VP2 indicated 0.17".  This is normal.

Al,
With your post and BigOkie's memory I was able correct the half inch that was missed without delay.

Thanks,
Joe
