Sliced Anemometer cable
« on: December 02, 2014, 09:59:37 AM »
Hello all.Looking for some advice on whether there is a fix for a cut cable.
Is it just a standard phone cable?
Is it hard wired in to to the wind cups/vane or a plug on that end also?
It's up on the roof so before I start working on this Im looking for suggestions.

It is indeed phone style wire, hardwired into the anemometer/wind vane head. You can get these from Radio Shack to splice it with, same color to same color.

If you wanted something really robust, the 7957 Coupler Kit uses these same type of gel-filled splices and protects them from the UV and weather. I used one for my Solar sensor at my prior location.

A quick Google shows a variety of vendors that have them.
