Rainfall rate/rain total **solved**
« on: August 19, 2014, 05:32:32 AM »
Hello,

The other day my acurite weather station reported .30mm of rain and this was sent to meteobridge via aculink but under live data and feeding onto wunderground this displayed only as a .30mm rainfall rate and failed to record it under total rainfall, any ideas why?

Edit: I now notice from todays rain it misses the first .30mm/0.01inch of rain, any ideas why?

I have observed the same when there is very slow rain accumulation.

I don't know why the first tip of the bucket is not included in the total.

it appears to record it as a rainfall rate and not an actual amount, and yes it appear to be only during low amount, i was wondering if it is because the actual amount recorded is under .01inch, acurite report 0.25mm per tip

Sounds like a bug.  Every bucket tip should be recorded as rainfall.

The 5n1 sensor can't record anything less than 0.01 inch.

What would be the best way to get assistance?
I have attached a new image show live data from meteobridge for today and the month

Also of note, the correct amount is still reporting to aculink with the meteobridge plugged in so it not an aculink issue

I will check the code base, why the first tip might be lost sometimes.
Rough inspection did not bring up an answer, this will need more coffee and time.

Please accept, that finding this one lost tip regarding rain sensor accuracy at all
is not #1 on my list. But I will take care.
