Topic: Non-thunderstorm wind gust

I called in a non-thunderstorm wind gust of 56 mph into the NWS this evening at 5:59pm est and did not issue a lsr for this because there was no damage reported with it. Now at 9:54 pm est asos site 30 mi north of me is reporting 56mph wind gust with some extensive damage to power lines and trees being reported down in that same general area. There were how ever lsr's issued for 0.5" of snow. Is there something wrong with that picture.

The NWS finally put out the lsr with an hour late timestamp and issued it 5 hrs. plus late. It was issued after all the damage around the Harbor Springs area.
