N = 0º or 360º
NNE = 22.5º
NE = 45º
ENE = 67.5º
E = 90º
ESE = 112.5º
SE = 135º
SSE = 157.5º
S = 180º
SSW = 202.5º
SW = 225º
WSW = 247.5º
W = 270º
WNW = 292.5º
NW = 315º
NNW = 337.5º
N = 360º or 0º
The compass (a circle) has 360º.  You have 16 points on your compass.  360 divided by 16 equals 22.5 degrees separation between each point.

Keep in mind it would be something like this.

N - 347.5 - 12.5 degrees or +/- 12.5 degrees from 0 degrees
NNE - 12.25 - 34.75 or +/- 12.5 degrees from 22.5 degrees
NE - 34.75 - 57.25 or +/- 12.5 degrees from 45 degrees
etc.
