Use NAS box to collect weather data?
« on: January 20, 2014, 10:58:39 AM »
I currently have a Davis Vantage 2 Console connected to my router by Ethernet which uploads to the Davis site and then to Weather Underground for display.  To be able to store the records on my PC (Win 7) I have to open WeatherLink software and then the data is downloaded.

As I have been known to forget to do this for a period of time, I then loose the data I have not downloaded.  I do not keep my PC on 24/7.

I have a Network Storage (Synology Diskstation) that is on 24/7 and was wondering if there is a plug in / app / software that I could run on the NAS that would store all the data and still allow upload to Weather Underground or similar service?

Would be prepared to use different software as I find WL rather "clunky".

Thanks for any help you can give.
Dave
