Davis USB console power cables on other stations
« on: October 11, 2018, 11:03:03 AM »
We're outfitting our new motorhome, and I want to run a LaCrosse projection clock/thermometer and maybe a separate Lacrosse indoor/outdoor thermometer on USB outlets.

I was all ready to cut and splice some cables when I realized those units use the same size DC connector as the Davis stations, and the same approximate voltage.

I had previously purchased the 6627 Davis USB power cable from Ryan at Scaled Instruments, and tried it.

It works perfectly. So, if you have a 4.5-5 volts device that uses that small diameter power connector that you want to run on some sort of USB outlet, give the Davis cable a try. I just ordered 2 more.

Thanks for the tip. This would be a very handy option if you have those USB wall sockets.
