GW-1000U Gateway issues
« on: January 13, 2018, 09:56:26 AM »
Last weekend, I updated by gateway and sensor from Weather Direct, to Lacrosse Mobile Alerts. It took two attempts to get both up and running on the internet and reporting. Then it dropped connection and I redid the set up....twice. Everything was running fine until this morning.

I've tried rebooting the gateway and pulling the batteries out of the sensor. I have a solid red light on the gateway...and an occasional blinking green light.

Sensor is a TX60 with an external probe.

Any insight?

I haven't used Mobile alerts in quite a while, using WeeWX instead.  My GW1000 Always has a solid redlight, blinking green.  I have had issues with my network picking up the GW on powerup after a power outage and have had to reboot it a few times to get a network address.  I know pushing the button on it resets the registration and then you'll need to re-register at lacrosse mobile...

Thanks for the reply! Oddly enough, it reconnected today. I have no ideay why. I closed the black antena for ha-ha's...not sure if that worked or if it came back for some other reason.

Is WeeWx pretty easy to setup and use?

I've got WeeWX running on a raspberry pi using the interceptor driver.  It was pretty easy to get running, used the lacrosse advanced gateway setup utility to redirect the output to my Raspberry.  If you know a little Linux it's not bad, good user comunity and very helpful.
