OS WMR300
« on: June 30, 2017, 09:44:05 AM »
So I purchased and installed a WMR300 as a back up to my Davis Vanatge Pro2. They are installed side by side and I am very pleased with the performance of the WMR300. The readings are almost indenticle with the WMR300 updating winds as they change and the Vantage only updates every 7 seconds. The big plus was that the WMR300 only cost me $199 from Amazon.

Thanks

Steve

That's awesome that it's performing so well, however your vantage pro2 should be updating wind speed and direction every 2.5 seconds, not every 7. And now it's just the wait to see the durability of the OS compared to the VP2. I have had 2 OS stations in the past and have had bad luck with their durability/longevity here in northern New England through our harsh winters. I truly hope you have better luck with yours though! I did love my OS 100 stations when I had them. I now have the VP2 and love it, but I have heard the OS 300 is a great station!!

Happy weather watching,

The funny thing about the WMR300 it looks almost exactly like the Davis Vantage Pro

one issue with the WMR300 is that the plastic is not very UV resistant (compared to the Davis stations), i.e it fades (goes white looking, and brittle)
