Interference?
« on: July 04, 2016, 02:52:35 PM »
Hi All,

Starting this week the military is conducting something called RIMPAC maneuvers around the islands. They probably will be using ULF or VLF to communicate with submarines and don't know how it will affect my station here. Some people that lives near Peal Harbor have had issues with garage doors opening and closing at random too.  This operation is expected to last about a month or so. Countries that surround the Pacific are participating in this exercise.

Will see how all this pans out for this month.

Those submarine communications at VLF/ULF are slow CW aren't they? Maybe you will be able to see the interference gating on/off as they send messages.

Hi Greg,

I think it would be but even if I could copy the CW it will be in some kind of code, like the Enigma Machine so it will be gibberish for me.

A couple of weeks for this exercise more to go.
