Topic: Yahoo WOEIDS search yields 2 different values

I just find it curious that when I search for my hometown on https://weather.yahoo.com/ I get 2 different WOEIDs

Searching by Text (NAME) yields one value
Searching by Zip Code yields different value

Has anyone noticed this at their locations and does it cause anyone issues?

Happens all the time here. If I search for my town(Gleeson) I get one set of data (mine)  If I search by zip code I get the closest station to the center of the zip code Elfrida.

I suspect yours is the same. Searching by zip goes to the center of the zip code.

Google comes up with WU address and puts you in Pa. if its you.  https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KPAJERMY2#history

Is that like a twin city area? East Jermyn and Nebraska

No its just that I'm on the line between two towns...technically in Jermyn but Nebraska a section of the neighboring town actually has its own forecast  on NWS ....

Ok thanks, what was weird the link in first post took me to Chadron Nebraska so was thinking you were in Nebraska. I didn't see Pa. at all until WU page.
