Isn't this the 4th blood moon event and the beginning of the tribulation or something like that. I have family members talking about this, even calling me to stock up on dry goods, water, guns and ammo.  I don't know about this...#-o

Well it is the last in a series of four eclipses that began on in April of last year, the other two were a wash for me due to clouds but this one looks like it will actually be on a clear night.  Going to try and find a nice scenic backdrop for some photos since the moon will be partially eclipsed as it rises at my location.  Hope everyone else has clear skies!

I thought it was worth a mention with the buzz going on in some religious sectors of our society along with books written, even a few movies out about the 4th blood moon.

OK my bad, I tend to not pay attention to stuff like that.  Folks can believe whatever they want as long as it gets them thru the day.  I'm not saying they'll be right but I won't try to argue the point either.

No problem at all. I'm like most others had never heard anything being I'm not part of the biblical community buzz.

Here are the reasons for the extra attention: It has only happened 9 times in the past 2000 years and significant events (for Israel) have happened with the last 3 occurrences.

"According to NASA, over 5,000 years we average only one total lunar eclipse every one and a half years. here we have four total lunar eclipses within that same time period."

"Now you add the odds of having all four total lunar eclipses being in a row without any other eclipses in between and the odds increase even more. Now let's imagine the odds when you have four total lunar eclipses in a row, within a year and a half, and they fall on the biblical holidays of Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles!"

"The last three times this occurred were in 1967 when Israel when recaptured Jerusalem, when Israel became a nation and established itself in 1948 and 1949, and during the Spanish Inquisition in 1493 and 1494 when all the Jews were kicked out of Spain and Portugal,"

So it doesn't really predict the "end of the world", but it may indicate something for Israel. Only time will tell.

Strange that, getting extra hits to my tsunami/earthquake alerts page when there's nothing going on.  What could they be looking for?

On my weather page it looks like the web cams from Oklahoma City and Tulsa are aimed toward the eclipse.

Also the 2nd home page using modified AltDashboard 6.95 at http://stillwaterweather.com/2ndhome.php

I know I've talked about Jack Berkland that thinks the moons closeness can cause quakes.

I'm watching NASA TV on DirecTV and one of the questions was about moonquakes.  They said they placed seismometers on the moon during the Apollo missions.
