HTTP2
« on: September 05, 2015, 09:03:32 PM »
Have you guys heard about the coming HTTP2 protocol?

A Czech company has just recently released the first ever functional demo of the coming HTTP2 technology, which allows up to 10 times transfers with the same internet connection speed thanks to optimized transfer.

You can try it yourself, I really look forward to it! It is now basically ready and it should be relatively easy to implement so I hope it will spread quickly. In my case, when I tried the demo several times in a row, the difference was about 5 times faster in case of HTTP2.

For me the HTTP/2 test took longer each time...  am I missing something?

Thats strange... the more I tried the faster it got, maybe it is because of the server located in Europe?

Retried it 10 times and now HTTP/2 is equal or faster 7 times.

HTTP/1.1 vs HTTP/2 test:
2.26  1.89
1.85  1.85
2.01  1.88
1.87  2.12
1.91  1.89
3.25  2.27
1.91  3.33
1.95  2.48
2.49  2.00
2.25  1.89

I think this depends on many factors including physical location of the server. Remember this is just the first demo released, they said they tested it and on average it was 5-7 times faster, sometimes even 10 times. So it will definitely still go through optimization and once it gets more common the difference might be quite substantial.

Old thread I know, but thought I'd share my 2 cents worth.  just upgraded my apache and httpd2 support.  so far the website does does seem to respond quicker.
