Stormfront in Vermont

Here's something you don't see all too often here in Vermont.

Click on photo for higher res.

I was waiting for fireworks, behind me was a huge open field full of people where they were going to launching the fireworks. I wasn't going to bring my camera originally because I've taking sooo many firework photos and just wanted to enjoy them this time around..but I decided to bring it along anyways just in case if I saw something. Well I'm glad I did.

Took this shot just before 7pm..storm moved along pretty quickly..heavy downpours..some good wind gusts (particularly when the stormfront approached) and man some intense lightning strikes. Some VERY close and there were people hiding under trees!! I'm like hmmm, that's not the best idea.

Storm passed, medium to light rain for an hour but 9:30 came and it was cleared up enough to launch the fireworks and boy were they good. Soon after, it starting rained again..heck, I even saw some spider lightning during the fireworks! Now that would've been a sweet picture.

Hope you all had an awesome 4th of July!
