Topic: Shelf Cloud

We had a nice thunderstorm with hail yesterday with a good shelf cloud preceding it. Here are a couple of photos. I also posted a couple of videos on my website of the cloud moving across the water. Links to the videos are on the main page. (http://www.tawasbayweather.com).

Great shelf cloud shot!   Must have gotten pretty windy after that outflow moved in.

It did get pretty windy and we got some significant hail, then the town's tornado siren went off and the radar indicated the thunderstorm was showing a tornadic vortex. We headed to the basement but no tornado ever touched down. Pretty exciting stuff for this area- tornadoes are fairly rare in this part of Michigan.

I talked to one of the guys at the Gaylord NWS and one of them took a look at the youtube videos and told me to send the link to the warning coordinater for further review.
