USB splitter for Meteobridge
« on: July 29, 2014, 09:12:09 PM »
Is it possible to attach a splitter to the USB of my data logger on Davis Vue so I can still run Meteobridge but also plug one into my PC to download the data from the station?

No.  Have MB push the data to your local PC (ftp. SQL push etc.) Or periodically disconnet and DL the logger data.

I didn't think the USB splitter would work. Thanks. I assume I can disconnect then reconnect MB without problems. How long would the logger need to download the info to the PC? Thanks

Depends on the data archive interval which determines the number of records.  They go pretty fast.  A couple days at 1 hr interval is like 20-30 seconds

Sorry to be a pest but I plugged USB from station back into PC and opened WeatherLink and it is saying it cannot find the station. Is there a certain procedure I have to do to reconnect it to the WeatherLink software. Thanks

You could probably use something like this if you want to avoid physically plugging an unplugging cables.  http://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-Manual-Share-Switch-Printer/dp/B002YOVDSS

You might also try using a Meteostick (http://www.smartbedded.com/wiki/index.php/Meteostick) with the Meteobridge that reads RF data from your Davis. Doing so the console can be connected to your PC constantly.

Thanks. I saw that but a bit too expensive. Already spent about 450 dollars on everything,
