Title: Tule Fog
Post by: spc fresno on January 16, 2018, 02:01:07 PM
As far as I know, widespread dense (visibility under 0.25 mile) fog events are a unique feature of the San Joaquin Valley (tule fog). In fact, recently we've been having our fair share of dense fog in this area. However, I was wondering if fog similar to this occurs anywhere else, even if it is rare in that particular location.

Satellite image from today (1.16.18), showing fog in not only the San Joaquin, but also the Saline Valley (seen in the middle right). I'd never seen that until this past week.

If anyone has seen a similar event to Tule Fog, can you put some pictures down below?  :-)
