New Next-Gen Software: AtmoGraph
« on: August 06, 2014, 01:34:00 PM »
Good afternoon everyone! I have been working with Paul Maravelias for the past couple of years to bring you our latest product - AtmoGraph - http://atmograph.com/index.html

AtmoGraph is a sophisticated model data visualization software containing new, patent-pending, technology. There are two versions:
1.) Starter
2.) Professional
Both of these can be compared on our website at the following link: http://atmograph.com/announcement.html

We also have a page containing some screenshots, but these are fairly limited right now. We update the page fairly regularly. That page is here: http://atmograph.com/screenshots.html.

We have our user forums as well located here: http://atmograph.com/forums/ - there is a wealth of information.
We realize that documentation is a must for software like this, so you can find our manual here: http://atmograph.com/manual.html

Our product contains nearly every available model available except for the subscription based services like the ECMWF. This means that you, the end user, only pay one flat price and receive free future updates to the software.

Included here is literally every single product offered by each individual model, plus a plethora of derived products - some you can't even see anywhere else! Data can be contoured, displayed as vectors, etc AND data from different models can be overlaid at the same time! Recently, we updated our GIS system to allow for street-level viewing, customizing state/country/county borders (including thickness) and high-resolution roadways are integrated by default; there is also a built-in system for viewing TIGER Roads shapefiles without having to go to an external website to download them (road colors are customizable as well!). I have told you all I can think of for now, but I know Paul will be chiming in as soon as he can.

Something of note: If there is model data that we have not covered/cannot incorporate, the Professional version allows for custom GRIB/GRIB2 file importation.

A BIG request that has been fulfilled here is precip-typed future radar! We have three ways of doing it, with varying degrees of accuracy:
1) Fast - utilizes the 32F 2m Temperature line to project areas of mix and snow
2) Slow - utilizes the 5.4km Thickness line to project areas of mix and snow (most accurate in my opinion)
3) Slowest - utilizes the three products (categorical rain, ice, snow) to project areas of mix and snow

As a side note: this software is much more sophisticated than WeatherStudio ever was and is much more stable. If a bug were encountered, an automatic reporting system sends the information directly to us. In the future, we plan a much better build of WeatherStudio (from the ground up) which will be based off of this new engine we are using.

Enjoy some of my screenshots!
