Using Startwatch, the computer can automatically start and load the weather programs unattended. This is great after a power failure at night or while away. However there are some software that require human intervention to set it the way it needs to be. For example, GRlevelX does not remember the last view it had before closing. So when reopened it takes a human to zoom into the desired view and then start uploading.
I have been using a program called
AutoIt that is great for creating small exe programs to do the human tasks. You can see the result in
action here. All the mouse movements are programmed. While not what I would call "easy" to learn, it was easy enough that I figured it out.
So using these exe programs within Startwatch, the weather computer can fully start on it's own.
