Just an FYI, those who are looking for a replacement Vue console or a second one, West Marine is having a sale right now. The console can be purchased for $89.55 and if you use code "CYBER10" you can get an additional $10 off ($79.55). It can be found here:

I think I got one coming, thanks for the post.
However the extra $10 was not available.

Not sure what I am going to do with it... maybe resell it ;)

Not sure about you, but when I ordered, there were more than 5 left and I received an e-mail yesterday that my order was cancelled due to being out of stock. Pretty pissed about that.

I got a reply on yesterday (Tuesday) evening that it was shipped along with a tracking number, and UPS tracking says departed West Columbia SC Wednesday 3:31 pm.  I'll likely be sorry to have ordered it because I really don't need it and of expected high UPS shipping and duty/taxes ;)

Enjoy,
Paul

Yes, shortly after I first read it.  Sorry if I took it away from you    and can I say thank you for posting it?

Your post is timed at 3:11 pm on Monday and my confirmation of order was at 4:10 pm  so just short of one hour later.  Immediately after I saw your post I went to their site and started my signup, as it seemed like a great deal, and remember I had a bit of delay in completing my order as I was talking to GoDaddy support about my cPanel issues at the same time.

Enjoy,
Paul

They said there was a computer glitch. Said it generated a pick order to the warehouse, but for whatever reason, it was not fulfilled. They found me one in New Jersey. Opened box, but in like new condition. They will ship that one to me. I guess that will have to do. I am glad to share my findings with those who may be interested. Enjoy your backup. LOL

Package finally arrived this afternoon.  All setup (as stand alone) and showing data except for no pressure yet and No Trend Yet.

Now I will be able to see what the console is receiving and what Cumulus receives from the ISS/Envoy.

Enjoy,
Paul

I have my Wireless VP2 ISS transmitting as station 1;
A VP2 console receiving from station 1 as stand alone;
An Envoy receiving from station 1 and connected with USB data logger to computer;
And now the new Vue console receiving from station 1 as stand alone.

The VP2 console and Envoy data from ISS seems to be current and correct.
The new Vue console is receiving all data from station 1, but I am starting to worry about the Vue's pressure.

I set up the Vue console for hPa at about 4:00 pm and it is now 5 hours later.  The Barometric Pressure is still as four dashes - - - . -
Elevation is set as 805.1 feet
Reduce Bar NOAA (using the default)
The diagnostic screens seem  to show good information, and shows as Firmware version 3.00 so this may have been old stock...

Pressing BAR and WxCen I get:
1. Bar change 24hr - - - . - (4 dashes)
2. Bar Max - - - . -    12:00
3. Bar Min - - - . -     - - : - -
4. Altimeter Setting 916.3
5. Absolute Pressure 979.9
6. No Trend yet  - - - . -

Should I worry, or just wait longer, or call Davis in the morning?
I am recalling Gord from BlenheimWeather had problems with his new VP2 console, and then also with a VP2 consxole replacement.  But that may have been an interference issue with his HAM equipment.

Paul

I don't think I've ever seen pressure on Davis console dashed out. Wrong on startup YES but not dashed out.
You might try inches and see if it changes anything.

Thanks for the reply.  I've now tried mm and in as well and the only thing that changes is where the decimal is placed, still all dashes - - . - -

Version 3.00? Jeez, when I bought my Vue a year ago it had 4.18 on it. Still shouldn't mess with the pressure, mine displayed immediately on initially firing it up. :???: Check the console build date, perhaps that'll help down the line.

The manufacturing code is MJ150212083
which I presume is Feb 2015.  So looks like very old stock by that re-seller.

I have been trying to calibrating barometric pressure.  The manual says...
1. Press BAR
2. Press and release 2ND, then press and hold SET.  The barometric pressure variable blinks.
3. Continue holding SET until the Weather Centre reads "SET BAR"
but even after holding for minutes there is no message "SET BAR"  I have tried it several times so looks like a faulty unit and a call to Davis tomorrow.

According to this, your console can upload 4.18 and has a pressure update. Should you wish to try...(I would, I think it'll work)

Thanks for that link.  I have been reading the manual that came with the Vue Console and hadn't done any further research.

I presume I'll need to connect it to the computer to do the firmware update, and hesitate to remove the datalogger from my existing working Envoy setup.

I'll call Davis tomorrow though.

There was a problem with the barometer reading dashes on at least one VP2 console recently here: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=33358.0

The Console does not show any barometric pressure, just a dashed line. And the graph shows a straight line across the middle of the graph.

Mine is going back to Davis.  Davis was surprised the dealer was still selling that old of a unit.

Another plug for Davis telephone support.  Called and got a live support person immediately.  Went through the setup and diagnostics, which I had already done myself yesterday, and the decision was to have it repaired with shipping both ways at Davis cost.  Support had suggested I do a firmware update but I wasn't happy to temporarily unplug by data logger from my envoy setup so sending it to Davis was the compromise.  It is spare so no urgency on it.

Will enjoy,
Paul

Got the Vue back yesterday and is now displaying pressure.
The Davis work order says:
Could not duplicate problem.
Replaced console PCBA for trouble shooting purposes.
Updated console firmware.
Repaired unit tested good.

While the console screen is smaller than the VP2 I like the Vue and seems a bit more user friendly.

Nice to see the comparable/differences between the stand alone Vue and VP2 consoles, and my Weatherlink software through the USB-Envoy, and also Cumulus.

Not sure yet what to do with it other than wait and use it for the byq http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=33718.msg342482#msg342482 beta testing.

I again have to compliment Davis for their support.  While none of us like to receive a faulty unit this one appears to have been 3 year old dealer stock.  Davis had no issue spending considerable time on my initial phone call to try to troubleshoot, and then sent a prepaid return label.  Unfortunately the prepaid label is only if sent in continental USA so had some cost in mailing it in for warranty repair.  The repaired unit was sent back to me prepaid so no further shipping nor customs/duty cost.  I am happy.

Enjoy,
Paul

Hey, Paul.

That's cool that they were that helpful. My manufacture date was the same as your's. Once I received Belfryboy's logger, I immediately updated the firmware to 4.18, but I never had pressure issues out of the box with 3.0. It is working flawlessly with my ISS (purchased from Amazon, with a manufacture date of early December 2017). Glad you're up and running properly.
