Low temp of zero reported after computer reboot
« on: July 01, 2014, 11:50:38 AM »
I’m not sure if this question belongs here or in VWS but here goes.

We are using the Saratoga USA templates/scripts.  Running VWS v13.01.  About 2 months agao upgraded to a Davis VP2.

I’m noticing that when I reboot the computer the low temperature as displayed on the web page using the Saratoga temp/script shows a zero at the time of reboot.

You can see the data showing this anomaly on this page http://lakecityweather.org/wxtempdetail.php

Look at the zero temp readings in May, June, July.

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also open to suggestions on correcting wrong data.

Otis,

This temp on the detail is coming directly from the NOAA reports.  They also show zero as the low.  Not sure what might be causing this but could it be the VWS version 13.01 with the new logger on your new station?  Many changes to VWS since 13.01.

To correct the Detail chart you will need to correct the NOAA charts.  Be very careful when you do that you don't damage the format.

Thanks for the response Jay,

I do see that the figures are coming from the NOAA reports.  I did try and change [one] just to see but no joy, the change would not stick.

I also think I ahve confirmed it happens only when a computer reboot occurs.  I have since tried just restarting VWS and there are no changes to the low temp.

It is currious that it is only the low temp.

I know VWS v13xx is old.  I had tried v15 but many problems.  I have a copy of VWS 14xx and may try that.

Very strange.....

I wanted to provide an update.

Until now have not rebooted the computer.  Just had some windows update that required a reboot and the low temp held to what is should.

I don't think there is a relation to the Windows update - could be wrong it happens

Anyway, wanted to follow through on this post.  CLOSED for now?
