Acurite bridge & receiving other brands
« on: March 20, 2016, 11:55:25 AM »
Has anyone found or tried to use other manufacturers of thermo/hygrometer sensors with the bridge, and if so which? The bridge is a dumb bridge, so I would think that if the sender is of the right frequency, the bridge may read it. I am picking up a "ghost" sensor lately, but the humidity is stuck on it, however the thermometer is reading OK... I have no idea what brand it is, but the aculink software reads it as "tower" just like mine.

Mine has such artifacts as well.  I suspect, but have not proved, that this is likely an "artifact" and not another sensor.  Although the sensor protocol is pretty simple so I guess it could be...

The bridge isn't that dumb.

It only forwards information for devices it thinks are AcuLink compatible devices.  Sometimes it mis-identifies a device, though.

If you want to see all devices on the 433MHz frequency, take a look at this thread: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=28051.0

We are in development on a new 00594/595 type wind only sensor, that will also connect to the aculink internet bridge.

What happened to this product?

There's not much to comment on.

The 3n1 sensor is AcuLink compatible, but it only shows wind speed (not direction) and temp/humidity.

I don't find this to be what Rhino was talking about... He said "wind only".

I've seen no indication that anything like that is "in the works".

I would buy one right now. I bet lots of others here would as well.

Maybe, but I expect the next generation will utilize ultrasonics.

If you want windspeed, the 3n1 sensor is a reasonable option for now.  It's only lacking is wind direction.

Nincehelser,

Do you think this is compatible with the bridge? How old is this station? I like the display.

That appears to be one of the older stations.  It's probably pre-AcuLink, so it's hard to say how compatible it is.  I've never heard of one working with AcuLink.
