Title: VVPro VWS
Post by: Garth Bock on May 28, 2015, 02:26:10 PM
Our university weather station was recently sent out for repair and recalibration. Now VWS doesn't work but Cumulus, WeatherLink and Weather Display do. Is this the infamous firmware I have been hearing about ?

VVPro  1.2.5
VWS    14.01
Envoy    3.15

When VWS is started up it downloads the archive very fast and then no graphs appear. When I set it to Com1 and let it communicate with the station directly VWS works fine. I have heard that the new firmware breaks the VVPro/VWS combination but works with everything else. Any work arounds or fixes for this ?

I think I understand what you are asking and the answer is yes, the firmware update to the Davis unit causes VWS and VVP to quit communicating.  I asked Davis about rolling back the firmware and they said it should not be a problem - I have NOT done that however.  One could say I lack the guts to give that a try

Thanks. I am not sure if I want to roll back to 1.9 or not. While the loss of Cumulus, WL and WD is a shame it isn't a total loss. VWS provides the info for the University website. Is Ambient going to roll out a fix in VWS ?

I have not heard if they are or not, I wish they would.

Garth, did you get a resolution to your problem?
