If you mean you sent "email" by filling in a topic line and text box on a page on the WU website, then you may not have sent anything at all.

My background: A few months ago I tried to fill out an inquiry page like that, which I wandered onto on their site while searching hard for some way to contact WU (prior to finding this forum). When I clicked on the page's send or submit button, I happened to spot a quick message flicker at the top center of the screen. It was too quick to even read. So I clicked on the send/submit button several more times in a row while staring at the center top of the screen and I eventually read enough to understand the fast-disappearing message was saying that the intended email address was invalid. Since there is no way to specify the "To:" when submitting an inquiry on this page, I realized the destination address built into the webpage was apparently no longer valid, so all of the repeated sends/submits I was sending were probably not really going anywhere except "into the ether."

Did you actually send an email using your email software, or were you just on their website, as I was? I wonder if this is the source of so many "WU doesn't even respond to my emails" complaints that I have read here and elsewhere. For example, one such complaint was just posted today in the WeatherUnderground section under the Station Stickers No Data topic by Whitbyweather. Again, that post too is not clear on whether the poster sent "real" addressed emails or filled out on-website submission form(s).

Best ways to reach WU is to post on their Trello site:
https://trello.com/b/hqC0tb0u/weather-underground

Or to post a message Here in this WxForum.net sub for Weather Underground as employees do come in and respond at times.
Particularly the WU - Let us know your issues thread:
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=33651.0

But please don't post about stickers not working or web cams not working...etc (many more issues). Those (and more) are known issues. Read and find out what has been happening and find out if your case is unique or if you are just like the rest of us waiting for tons of bug fixes.

Thanks.
My first issue was sent through their page.
My second was as mail and I got an automated answer that it was received.
I'll give it a week until I try your suggestion.
Thanks again.

I have sent many emails successfully to William at Wunderground in the past and usually got a reply, but now there is absolutely no response. This is a direct mail from my email client.
I can no longer find the support page and I am beginning to despair. I don't know if Wunderground is aware of my problem or not without searching their site from top to bottom. I send my data to then for free and would expect some decent communication and fault fixing in return.   ](*,)

They laid off or fired everyone who was doing customer-facing support when IBM decided that website users weren't really the customers they were interested in.

Buy a few tens of thousands of dollars of aggregated PWS data per month and they'll be happy to reply.

I've given up on WU communicating with me. they may make a general post now and then but they dont have enough staff and the ones who do comment are specialising in one area or another.

IBM truly shafted WU and personally I dont think you can repair the systematic damage they have done to themselves or Weather Station owners data.

In a nutshell, WU is now unreliable. (full stop)

I've been a WU member now for over 10 years, apart from some replies in the early days and odd replies from Jeff I haven't received ANY replies from them for over 5 years (I can be a little hard on them in my emails though), since the takeover, I am still waiting for a reply to endless emails sent via the weather channel support page, probably sent over a hundred emails via support in that time to date, see weather channel email reply copy below: sent tonight!

Still don't get any reply, it grieves me to see how the whole WU thing has deteriorated into this, even when all I'm letting them know is there is a problem or problems with the site, did anyone else notice by the way that they seem to have gone European with their hurricane maps these days, using KPH (as most of Europe do) instead of the MPH which you guys in the states and here in the UK use, Strange huh!

Hi, folks.  Not all customer-facing folk are gone.  I am here through the API shift.  I may not have all the answers immediately, but you can at least reach a live person at the moment.

You can reach me at Victoria.Gardner@ibm.com.

Victoria,
Thank you for the introduction and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here and available via email. Although I welcome your receptiveness to giving us your email address, I think there is something to be said for an open forum discussion like this where users can help other users and company people can interact with the users also. We all learn from other's issues in this manner and it can cut down on the incoming requests by having the discussions in the open where it is accessible and searchable.

On another note can you give us some more details about the efforts that IBM and the Weather Underground team is doing moving forward with these API changes and the future new UI that I beta tested. I think it would be nice to be informed. I liked participating in the one-on-one with the Weather Underground employee testing out the new UI. I provided a ton of feedback. This occurred just about over a month ago. Just last week I reached out to that WU employee to find out about any of my feedback ideas and I got no response. I think it would be nice to continue to be informed. So anything you have to share would be great. Namely to hear potential time frame of changes coming and what is first line of order for items being tackled. We all want to know things like when will we be able to edit our bad data, or when the new improved quality control (star rating) will return...etc etc....with the multitude of other issues.

Thank you.

Hi, Galfert!

There is no additional publicly available information beyond what is posted on the Wunderground Forum (https://apicommunity.wunderground.com/weatherapi).  That doesn't mean that no one is doing anything, because a lot is happening behind the scenes.  I just wanted to make sure that this forum (among others) knows that we are actively working.

I agree that a public forum is a wonderful resource.  However, in a business setting, not all information is public.  I will do what I can to ensure information is flowing in both directions!
