WMR968 rain gauge replacement?
« on: June 21, 2015, 09:01:24 AM »
I guess the WMR968 is so old that I can't find any info on what rain gauge will work as a replacement for the original.   Does anyone know if the PCR800 transmit on the same frequency and will work with the WMR968 console?

The WMR968 and the PCR800 also the same frequency 433MHz, however, the newer sensor runs on protocol 3 and I suspect the older version will be protocol 2 and not compatible.

I would drop an email to their support team, details can be found on their website here http://global.oregonscientific.com/customerSupport.php

I am in the same fix and yes the original RGR968 works on protocol 2. I went through two of them and now have none and have been without for a long time. You see them on ebay once in a while and always for a lot of money.
There is no replacement/substitute.

I am waiting to move to New Mexico to install my Christmas present Davis unit.
