Belfort Universal Rain Gauge Calibration
« on: September 12, 2009, 02:33:33 PM »
Does anyone know how to calibrate a Belfort Universal Rain Gauge?  I have a Cat No. 5915-300.  http://www.belfortinstrument.com/content/precipitation_s5780_5915.cfm
It has no chart.  The potentiometer is about 10K.  The resistance is not repeatable; ie measure resistance, take the bucket off, put the bucket back on, the resistance is different.
The pot is linear from 2" accumulation to 10" accumulation.
I want to know what each mechanical adjustment does before I start tweaking.
I found a $35 manual from Belfort.  I'll order it if no one else can advise me.
