.BIN Files
« on: February 13, 2009, 07:42:39 AM »
Hello Friends,
I'm new on this Topic. Mij Name is Nol and living in The south of Holland playing for 2 jears with VWS and a WMR 928N, so far no problems , but! now I try to redirect the .BIN data from the root of my HDD where is is stored by VWS ,  to c:\VWS\Data\Bin\ . "Not" with copy and paste but with settings in the VWS programm I looked evrywhere but did not find a solution to change this.

Plaese thanks in advance,

Nol,

You may need to do a complete reinstall.  All my .bin files are in VWS/setup.  This is the way VWS originally set them up.  Did you do a different install in the beginning?

Hallo Jay,

Thanks for your reaction, as far as a now did i a normal install, all the bin files are on it's place only the 3 .bin files for exemple 2009.bin ,2009_13_2.bin and 2009_2.bin are in the root.

Hi Nol

those files should be in the folder named data and not in the root.
i think you could do a new instalation and then copy all the files to there right folders.

OK Lars,

I just did a update to te beta version, The files i pointed at are not the only, there are 3 .bin files every day from about 4K. There is somewhere in the programm VWS an instruction that  places the files over there.

Hello friends,

The bin files are not installed within VWS, but, are written when the WMR 928N is connected,

If these files are being written when the station is connected and are being written to that specific directory. They are being written there for a reason.

Thanks,

I run a wmr100 here and it shows a  forecast52.bin in the root  of VWS  which is the forecast data coming from the console. So with what I see and what you write that data is from your console  for VWS to use if you were using it to forecast weather. Check and I think you will see those foile date time stamped as of today
