I say winter starts on the 1st of December and will try to inform people of this reality from now on. What do you say?
-
So that would mean then Summer starts on December 1 in the southern hemisphere. What do you say?
-
There is no reality. It's all in terminology and record keeping. 70 (or higher) in December in so much of the US isn't really Winter, is it?
What's weird is the disparity of the seasons. We have the potential for 70+ degrees and thunderstorms every month of the year. Not likely to see 30 and snow in more than 3-4 months.

Next thing somebody is going to blame global warming, yep I can see it coming :)

 I was hoping to get a discussion going on Meteorological vs. Astronomical seasons but my bait was too strong

Can't escape that these days. :-P
For me, it's the first time I walk out the door and say BRRRR!
That is sometime in mid to late October. But then again I'm a whuss when it comes to cold weather. :-)
