QUESTION: Heathkit ID 1290 Weather Station

I just listed a Heathkit ID 1290 Weather Station I hooked it up and tested but I don't see wind direction
Indication Is it a L.E.D :grin: Back lite It doesn't seem to have a dial Indicator.

Sure about them being LED?  My ID1290 used a #47 lamps for direction indication.   ;)

One possibility could be the magnet has come loose in the sensor and not closing any of the reed switches.

On mine the wind direction was always the problematic part of the unit.  The reeds would hang (get magnetized?) illuminating multiple wind directions at the same time.  I replaced all of them at least once if not twice over 15 years of service.  In between replacements I would tap the base of the anemometer tower with a hammer every week or two to shake them loose when I had 3 or more lit.    :lol:
