I don't mind snow, but I can't say that I am ready for it yet. Freeze warning here tonight. You are in winter, we are in fall.

Today should be our last day with a morning low of 70°F or greater until next year.

I don’t even want to think about winter, snow, and freezes. I hate it all. That snow stake looks very cool though, I think I want one lol.

The return to Summer may finally be over.  To this point, October was ( DPTR FM NORMAL:  15.9 ), but the forecast now is to be below normal for the next week or two.   Daily highs of around 90 will change to around 60 with nightime lows falling from the low 70s to the low 40s.

The big anomaly for us over this summer and extending into the fall has been the number of days with dew points 70°F plus, including yesterday (73).

Once this cold front moves through and Michael zips by offshore, we're supposed to be in for some actual fall weather.

It's not quite apple-picking weather when you are dripping with sweat...

One of those years leaves were still on trees most still green, others were turning, both are falling off trees rapidly today.  So much for fall colors it got down to 20° this morning with 4th freeze this month and another chance of snow 60% tonight.

Not as sudden or extreme as some of you, but the 90s with dewpoints in the 70s have finally given way to the 60s with dewpoints in the 40s.

Early mornings are now in the 40s instead of the 70s like they were a week ago.

From this morning's AFD, Sergio comes a'callin':

"WPC has us in a marginal to slight risk for excessive rainfall during that time as well. Some of the moisture moving our way is tropical in nature from a system in the Pacific"

So, I got two from the Gulf this year and now one from the Pacific.

Just a week ago, we were setting or tying record highs or record warm lows.  Today we're within a degree of the record cold high and the next couple of nights we could be flirting with record lows, though it doesn't look like any will be set.

Winter storm warning few days ago we get 1" and advisory 3"+.  Even computer models need time to adjust into winter mode.
Was looking at ground temperature at 4" depth down to 40° this morning. Won't be surprised to see first teens tomorrow morning forecast has 21° currently.

Hey, it's a new month called AugNov!!

Yeah, I know it's not the 20th yet, but they tend to do some of their graphics to include future dates as forecast.

If you go back to the Spring/Summer thread, you'll find we did the opposite switch from March to June with a cold April and hot May.

Let's hope we don't have any more fronts as strong between now and March or we could all be in deep stuff!!!

Measured 3" on my snow board at 11:30 a.m. Right on what was forecast.

This is too early to go full winter mode.  Teens tonight mixed with some single digits weather office is saying for tomorrow morning. Thought we would melt more snow today but still 27 and wind at 2pm.  Our high temperature occurred at midnight 30°.

Fall? What's that? We went from the 100's two weeks ago to now the low 70's, but the rain is certainly welcome.

Escaped an early freeze here with 36 degrees.  It looks like no more near freezing lows for the rest of October.

37 this morning, coldest since April 30th.  Similar forecast for a few nights this week, but doesn't look like a freeze is imminent.  Our latest freeze date is 11/13 and we got to 11/10 a couple of years ago without one.  I wouldn't mind getting past the 13th though.

Looks like our first freeze will be Thursday night / Friday morning. Going to get close tonight but forecast to hover just above the freezing mark. The only thing keeping NWS from issuing a frost advisory is that the winds will be howling as the cold front moves through.

They keep changing the forecast (as they often do) and now it looks like a freeze is on the table for Sunday morning.
My cracker jack box PWS showed something like 32.9 early this morning, but the official low was 40.
