Mother Nature seems to like to work in equilibrium though; when we had a harsh winter a couple years ago, it got really hot...the year before that we had no snow and it was a mild summer.....So Id like to hope that Mother Nature will do the same this year :-)

if El Nino builds, as many think it will, then that will lead to a warmer summer for alot of the USA I would think

Can't be much warmer than the one I had last summer.  2nd hottest in recorded history.  Oklahoma as a state, recorded the hottest average temperatures of any state in the union AT ANY TIME IN HISTORY last summer.  50 days of greater than 100 degree weather I hope is not on par for us again.

Low 80s here with dewpoints in the 50s is pretty muggy for this time of the year :-(

Yeah, I guess your right.  I wasn't really taking the dewpoint in account.  Also, after
the cooler weather of winter, it takes a while for some to acclimate to higher temps.

Back to highs in the 60s and low 70s with lows in the 40s and maybe some upper 30s for the next week or so.  Nice, but it's drying up.  Haven't had any significant rain in a couple of weeks now.  Too much a couple months back, now not enough.  I can see it off in the distance sometimes.  Ground is still damp, but getting drier by the day.  Plants are going wild so far, but for how long?

About two weeks ago we had a long run of highs in the 80s, and the weather man on our local station said that normal allergy indeces that were high were 100 and we were at 2000!!! I wish I would have known how he created his formula

I had a high of 71 that day. When one is used to below 40---71 is hot.

T-shirts and shorts last week and drinking slushees

Sweats and jackets this week and back to coffee.

Still no rain though.  Not too long ago I was griping about squishing around in the mud everywhere, knowing I'd be begging for rain before too long.  Lots all around yesterday, but I only got about a 15 minute shower.  None in the 5 day forecast.

It's been pretty dry for the year for us so far, already 2" below normal (Maybe it wont be quite as humid as last summer though :-))

Gonna be a little cooler this coming week, going from 80s last week to low 60s

Now they're using the 'F' word again.  I actually had some on the grass this morning.

Tuesday Night: Patchy frost after 3am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 38. North northwest wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Wednesday: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 59.

We had freeze warnings last night and frost advisories starting in about an hour for tonight. We were in the 80s last week...Looking for upper 50s to middle 60s for this week, which is near normal.

I like what was referenced with "Heat is a relative term." Being used to 40s and 50s and then getting smacked with 70 can make that feel quite hot, I did not enjoy working in that weather.

temperature roller coaster continues. After being in the 80's a week ago we have been in the low 60's this week. With the sharp contrast in air masses thank goodness a ridge as been in place or we could have saw some big time thunderstorm action.

Speaking of, friends in the forum who live in Oklahoma (jealous btw) lookout the next couple of days, a potent low pressure system will emerge and push into the southern plains coupled but a deepening trough will be over the region for a couple of days. Right now major threat looks to be large hail but of course models can change and you can never rule out an isolated tornado.
