A Lot of Rain in Michigan Today!
« on: August 08, 2009, 01:05:41 PM »

So far I've received 2.62 inches, most of which fell in the last 2-1/2 hours!

And the fat lady hasn't sung yet. :-({|=

I thought it looked on radar like you guys up North were getting a good deluge.  There was an arm from it that extended down through our area this morning but only gave a few sprinkles.

We did not really need anymore.  Grass was thick and tall when I mowed yesterday like it is in early Spring.  Very unusual for this time of year here.  I dug up my muddy and rotting onions tonight.  Worst crop I've had in many a year.  They've never had a chance to dry out all summer.  Corn looks great around here but I don't know how it is fairing regarding corn smut.  Hopefully the ears are not all black with the fungus when it comes time for harvest and hopefully it will be drier when that time comes.  Tomatoes have had there problems this year too with all the damp weather.

It rained hard again last night (boomers). In all I received 5.35 inches in roughly a 24 hour period.

Yesterday's high was 76oF. Today it's presently 92oF.

Yep, a flash flood warning, to be precise. Issued around 2:30 A.M., of course. Looks like we're in for more storms through Tuesday.

Yup, about to get smacked.  Drove through round 1 today, niagara falls back to toronto.  Drove though some pretty heavy stuff, but I think we were just north of the worst.  Toronto got hit pretty hard.  My radio alarm went off a few minutes ago... watching the first of the "red blobs" about to attack.

... Looks like we're in for more storms through Tuesday.

Looks like you had some good ones again there later this evening.  I seen spotter reports of trees down, 3/4" hail, and a tornado warning to your S.W. a county or two when I checked GRL3 earlier tonight.

I missed that! (I was doing other things.)

We were at friends' tonight who live about 15 miles north of us. I mentioned that I received 5.35 inches between yesterday and last night, and he said he'd received only a little more than 2 inches total. Amazing!
