Title: SHT3x sensor in 01080 Indoor Humidity Monitor
Post by: miraculon on December 28, 2017, 03:39:10 PM
I recently bought an indoor humidity monitor per the subject line. In the Amazon listing, the image clearly shows "SHT3x" in the graphic. I didn't see any mention of this on the AcuRite site for the 01080.

I was wondering if anyone knows exactly which SHT3x sensor this is. (30, 31 or 35) According to Sensiron's web site, the x will be a 0, 1 or a 5.

It caught my attention since these are used in my Davis sensors and consoles. (I have a number of AcuRite thermometers scattered about, but none of their weather stations.)

That's a generic pic, I just looked at my spare SHT31 and it clearly reads SHT31. Doesn't answer your question though.

This recently came up on the Acurite support board.

A customer was claiming he has an Acurite device (I think that model number) with a SHT31, and wanted to know if he could get a tower sensor with that same chip.

The Acurite support folks said that they aren't using SHT31 chips in anything, but I'd take that with a grain of salt.  The people on the front-lines of support don't always have all the details.

Typically you have to do a tear-down to figure out what's inside as Acurite rarely provides such detailed info.
