The computer models can't seem to agree on where it's going to go.

There's a stationary front just off the east coast.  If this wobbles, it could let the storm come ashore quicker.  But if it moves east, it could force the storm out into the ocean.  Only time will tell.  I hope the folks along the coast are preparing.

NJ and VA have declared a state of emergency.  Today's NWS Headlines:

Quote
Joaquin strengthens; heavy rainfall and flash flooding possible for parts of East Coast regardless of track

Many portions of the eastern U.S. are currently experiencing heavy rains and gusty winds associated with a frontal system. These heavy rains are likely to continue for the next few days, even if the center of Joaquin stays offshore. The resulting inland flood potential could complicate preparations for Joaquin should it head toward the coast, and even more substantial inland flooding is possible.

For info, The Hurricane Watch Net http://hwn.org/ has been activated. If you have a HF radio or a shortwave receiver capable of SSB, the frequency is in the 20m band on 14.325 Mhz USB.

There is a live audio feed on Broadcastify also:

NFL is talking about possible postponing game this Sunday and moving to bye week. I think it was the Washington game. Even without high winds being forecast to miss land now heavy rain will cause flooding.
