Topic: How Critical Is Bubble Level?

I've mounted my new Atlas on a 3/4" pipe attached to the eave of my home.  This spot was home to a 5 in 1 for the past five years.  Apparently the bubble level on the 5 in 1 was more forgiving because while it showed the bubble within the black circle, the Atlas is just outside the circle.  It's close, but not quite perfect.  Does this make a big difference?

Makes a difference for rain cup accuracy. Sounds like your margin of error is close enough though. But I don't have an Acurite so I'll let someone else have the final say.

This is one of the biggest reasons I'm procrastinating and putting off my new pole installation. I'm nervous of pouring concrete and not doing it right. I've never worked with concrete before.

It affects rain accuracy, but I’ve never heard of anyone doing a study that addresses how much.  Obviously the more level the better.

I would try to press down a bit on the bubble level to be sure it is properly seated.  I once had one that wasn’t fully snapped in.

Getting on the roof to access the station isn't too difficult....getting at the mounting location is not so easy.

You should have nothing to worry about if the whole bubble is anywhere inside the black circle. Of course the more centered inside the black circle the better. My whole bubble looks like this and my rain readings are very close to surrounding stations.  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
