Any other HOBO Users?
« on: July 16, 2018, 04:54:29 PM »
Hi, is anyone else on this forum using Onset HOBO hardware? As a volunteer, I have recently revived and updated a HOBO-based weather station for my township. It's now running with a cellular RX3003 unit and 5 sensors.

I would really like to connect with other HOBO users who use (or try to use) Weather Underground for online and public kiosk display of current weather conditions.

The website link below provides information about our weather monitoring station.

Although I am NOT currently using the HOBO, I DID look at them as a DIY home weather possibility but (as I vaguely recall) their accuracies (especially %RH) weren't acceptable.

What setup of components are you using for that township system?

Here you go:

RX3003 datalogger (the 10-year old system originally had a U30, but they are no longer supported by cell carriers)
S-THB-M002 12-Bit Temperature / Humidity Smart Sensor (better accuracy than previous older units)
S-LIB-M003 Solar Radiation Smart Sensor (silicon pyranometer)
S-BPM-CM50 Barometric Pressure Sensor
S-RGA-M002 0.01" Rain Gauge Smart Sensor
S-WCF-M003 Davis Wind Speed / Direction Sensor

A 6 watt solar panel keeps the battery charged. The accuracy and other specs are in the data sheets and manuals on the Onset website.
