28.4 mph on LaCrosse WS-2310
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:47:04 PM »
I don't know if this is the same problem as the 57mph issue, but every time I plug the serial port into my computer (with a USB adapter) the wind readout becomes 28.4 mph from due south. Shortly after removing the serial connection it returns to normal display. Has anyone run into this and if so what is the solution? I've tried UTP, unfortunately I don't have STP, nobody seems to carry it.

La Crosse is using a funky virtual ground using RTS and DTR.

Try it on a regular serial port on another computer.

Also, laptops/adapters sometimes use +/- 5vdc rather than the normal 12 vdc +/- on the serial lines.

Good luck.
