I especially like when the low level clouds pass through the mountain crevasses like in your 3rd pic down. Gives the 3D depth perception. I watch for that over here too but don't see that often.

Do you ever get the opportunity to go trekking around in them? Looks like it would be fun.

I had wondered if anyone owned the land or if it was a state or national park type land.

Absolutely - the right side of the mountain hike is called Pusch Ridge. When I got to the top we had estimated 40-50 MPH winds. I really enjoyed leaning into the wind arms stretched out like a sky diver.  The mid point contains Catalina State Park and has a better mix of hikes including less strenuous hikes than Pusch Ridge.  Catalina State park also includes seasonal waterfall which when right nest to a saguaro cactus is just a beautiful contrast. I believe most of the mountain is Coronado National Forest... the open desert with my Century Saguaro is state owned land called a riparian designated open/natural area.  It is nice to know my view is safe...
